FUN IN THE CITY

The guys keep talking about how they want to go fishing. Talking, talking, but no fishing poles have even been seen. Today they were joking around and found some fish at the museum that looked real and took this picture.  I guess that is as close as we are going to get to having a fish dinner.

Those fish were in the Montana Historical Society Museum gift shop.  The museum has a homeland exhibit with over 2000 artifacts tracing the history of Montana from the Ice Age to World War II. They spent some time at the museum while waiting to board the The Last Chance Tour Train.  That was a bumpy, hour long ride through the streets of Helena, but everyone enjoyed the tour. They saw many of the beautiful old mansions and churches in town and rode through an area called Last Chance Gulch. The conductor was a retired history teacher who gave a very interesting talk about his city.

Of course there was some eating and shopping involved after the train tour.  The Last Chance Gulch area was a walking street with restaurants and shops. After lunch they found a very popular ice cream store called the Big Dipper that had a line out the door.  Ice Cream cones for all!
