We didn't do much today. We spent the day driving down the mountain from the North Cascades National Park to Everett, Washington. Our new home away from home is the Maple Grove RV Resort where we are packed in like sardines. There is a tiny maple tree planted between our site and the next. Because the 4th of July is upon us, we will stay here for the three days we have scheduled. They were turning people away this afternoon, so we are glad we have a place to stay at all. After driving around the area, turns out this is the best of all the parks in Everett.
We drove west down Highway20, it was slow going with lots of curves. Once we left the area of North Cascades we were back to civilization, Target, Staples, Safeway, and all the things we haven't seen for days. That's not necessarily a good thing, we kind of liked the wilderness!
We drove down the I-5 and crossed the temporary bridge that was constructed to replace the one that fell into the river last month. Kathe tried to get a picture of it out the window as we were going across.
Jim took this picture of a phone booth while I was at the dog park in the rest area on I-5. He insisted that I post the picture of this relic from the past.
Like I said, not much going on today!
